Location Characteristics: The Town of Duck is one of the most popular resort destinations on the east coast of the United States. Duck is the Outer Banks newest town, incorporated in May 2002. The town of Duck is a beautiful mix of nature and seaside homes. 

Duck is a desired area to own a home due to its easily accessible shopping and restaurant areas, and well laid out subdivisions.  Duck offers some of the best homes on the Outer Banks. Many of the subdivisions in Duck offer community amenities.  Homes that offer community amenities in addition to in home amenities often experience a longer rental season.  The amenities vary from community to community.  Duck is an excellent choice for vacation or investment home ownership.

Duck has worked consistently over the last few years to improve the amenities offered by the town. It now offers a town park and soundside boardwalk, located in the heart of town. The amenities in the park include: gazebo, public kayak/canoe launch, playground, picnic area, and walking trails.  The Duck Town Park is home to many events throughout the summer including a summer concert series and morning exercise classes. Just north of town is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Research Pier, a fascinating world-renowned coastal research facility that is open to the public for tours, which was created to study the processes of the surrounding barrier islands. Duck is nationally-recognized as one of the "Top 15 Family-Friendly Beaches in America" by the Travel Channel in 2002 and was recently named one of the Top 10 "Fido-Friendly" Beaches in the U.S.
